My first love was in photography.
My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic. I carried it with me everywhere documenting my friends, pets and surroundings. I grew up just outside Washington DC until I moved to New York where I still live. I never did stop taking photos, though my cameras have changed. By now, photography is surely in my blood.
Over the years, I've developed and honed my skills. I consider myself a storyteller with an acute eye and a simple approach. I follow my subjects ever searching for light, moment and composition - these are the elements I look for that inform and strengthen the story I'm telling. My photographs reflect the moment and at the same time, seem to almost transcend time, it is this sort of magical quality that's most important to me.
With a BFA from Pratt Institute and an MFA from the Yale School of Art, both in Photography, my background in fine art photography continues to inform and influence my work. I work with film and film cameras such as the Holga, Widelux, Rollei, Hasselblad and the Contax 645 combined with Canon digital cameras, to create the most stunning, memorable images I can.
I hope to hear from you and work with you photographing your wedding or event and to encapsulate it for you in timeless, cherished photographs.
I hope you enjoy my blog! Feel free to leave a comment, I love hearing from you!
